Custom Wood Tables

We all have our own taste. Most of the time when it comes to furniture, pre-made ones available in the market just won’t cut it, especially when it comes to custom wood tables. Tables is where quality family time happens, hence it is a must to make it pleasant and vibrant as possible.

Some people prefer their tables to be a bold statement or center of attention of the room while others prefer something more subtle, unassuming or more on the minimalist side. Whatever your preferences are, we could build tables that would reflect and fit your personality and would complement the room the table is in.

One of the major concerns about custom wood tables is that they may not blend or correlate with the rest of the dining room or kitchen – most particularly, the floor they would be resting on. While wood tables have this classic look and would basically complement anything, some are very critical on their furniture and prefer every piece to be cohesive.

Below are some basic guidelines to follow in choosing a colour scheme that would fit all of your preferences and requirements:

Going Bold with a Custom Wood Table

Dark Floors – if you have decided to have a table that would be striking and would pop off the dark hard wood floors in your dining room, go with a white or a lighter base. The contrast in between the colours would blend beautifully with the surrounding space. Couple that with one of our reclaimed wood tops to add more character. Reclaimed wood’s beauty speaks for itself and does not require coats of paint to make it pop out.

Light Floors – as mentioned before, it’s all about contrast. Match a black or dark brown base with a reclaimed or solid wood table top and it would definitely stick out. Farm tables tend to make a bold statement when placed on light floors because its dark base helps make it pop!

What Works for Both – you might prefer something that would work for both just in case you decide to redecorate your house. In this case you might want to go with tables that have complex legs. Go with a more neutral hue of polished wood for they are more versatile and would easy stand out nicely off of dark or light floors.

Subtle and Effortless

The Rule – If going bold is too contrasting, going subtle and effortless is good for blending. If you want something that is more subtle or neutral, it is a must to consider the rest of the room the table would be placed in. What other fixtures are in the room? If you wish to have a table made with reclaimed wood for a more rustic feel, we guarantee that the colour scheme of the top and the base would complement your other furnishings or cabinets.

Dark Floors – if your dining room has dark floors and would like a custom wood table that would blend in nicely without being too striking. You might want to go with a solid wood table that has darker stain, something like walnut wood. The table would have this subtle, neutral, stylish and timeless beauty that would not overpower your dark floor. Walnut woods ooze with personality but since it is way smoother than reclaimed wood, it could sit beautifully and modestly without overpowering the rest of the room. Although they come at a higher price tag, they are elegant and timeless – definitely worth the investment.

Light Floors – obviously, go with a lighter wood! The room would have this vibrant yet neutral feel – going with a light table top with a matching or white washed base would give the space this clean and classic vibe. Some examples of this are solid wood tables that are stained lightly to give it a more neutral and natural look.

Every so often, the focal point is on the base; however, the base usually ends up being concealed by the chairs. Look for a table top that really meets your preferences and requirements since that is the part of the table that you would see on the regular. If you like a specific top but are having second thoughts that it would not compliment the rest of your dining room, don’t be! We deal with this everyday and we could definitely find and make something that would fit your requirements. Besides, the majority of the aesthetic rely on seating and accessorizing; you could go with a bold, striking table and still maintain that subtle and modern feel.
